Gratitude For the Unexpected

Hey Friends,

I’m in an interesting business. Often times my paycheck depends on the success of other people. This is, of course, one of the reasons I am so committed to helping others achieve breakthroughs in their lives.

The more people I can inspire and help to create a vision, well the richer my own life becomes. I’m rewarded financially and I also get to spend time with people committed to making a difference in their lives and also serving others.

But there’s a catch. It can be super frustrating trying to “help” people see a vision I know is incredible. And of course that can also breed frustration.

We all know it’s easy to be grateful for the “good” things that come our way: our family, our friends—and all the super-spectacular stuff that happens in our lives. It’s easy to appreciate things that make us happy, right?

But it’s a little harder to be grateful when things don’t seem to be going our way. In fact we can be down right pissed off and resentful.

It’s especially tough when we feel we know a better way that can help others but they aren’t open to listening. Or when painful heartbreaks crash through our happiness and leave us broken, and our lives shattered.

I wish life came with guarantees. It doesn’t.

We’ve all experienced the UNEXPECTED and sometimes it’s devastating. So what do we do? Give up? Let these circumstances take over our lives?

Hell No, not mine! And I HOPE not YOURS.

I’m not telling you to ignore the painful or annoying or frustrating events that try to BRING you down. Feel your feelings! Allow yourself to grieve, but don’t let anything KEEP you down for long.

Instead, choose gratitude. What if every annoying, frustrating or painful moment was actually a lesson?

What if you could be grateful for everything that comes your way, because somehow, somewhere that pain is going to transform your life?

You won’t always know when and you may NEVER know why. But if you trust life and give thanks, whatever it is will happen quicker.

Napoleon Hill once said, “Every adversity, every failure, and every heartache, carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” What this means is, no matter what happens, something good is right on its heels and it’s usually something BETTER.

So hang in there. Trust life and trust yourself. Be grateful for everything that comes your way no matter what it looks like on the outside.
