Make way for the new year--here we come, 2017!

Howdy Peeps!

Wooooohoooo! It’s a brand-spankin’ new year and your slate is clean!  How good does that feel?

I just got off a zoom with my doTERRA team and WOW they are fired about about a new Launch program we are starting. Isn’t it amazing the energy the new year can bring?

There is no need for you to wish you could slam the door on 2016 and walk away. It’s over. Today you’re standing in front of a new door. It’s wide open and ready for you to step over the threshold to a fresh new beginning.

AND 2017 promises BIG THINGS if you’re willing to go for it.

EXHALE, right? That’s good news!

Isn’t it super-crazy how on New Years Eve the stroke of MIDNIGHT makes such a huge difference in our lives? Geez—we actually split seconds as we “move away” and “move toward” at the same time.

You may not think about it, but this happens every minute of every day all year long. You really CAN change direction anytime you want. But you have to be paying attention. And depending on where you place your focus, your experience changes.

So are you focusing on moving AWAY FROM or moving TOWARD?

If you practice tipping the scales in favor of moving TOWARD what you want rather than moving AWAY from what you don’t want, you’ll be living your dream a lot sooner.

Here’s why….

There’s something called the pain-pleasure principle. Don’t freak—it has nothing to do with sadomasochism. The pain-pleasure principle is the driving force behind human behavior.

Here’s how it works.

When you want something (your dream house, a great career, cool clothes) you’re more likely to move TOWARD it because you know it will bring you pleasure.

When you DON’T want something or want something to stop (an insane relationship or an out-of-shape body) it’s easier to take action to move AWAY from it.

Which do you think has the stronger pull? Go ahead, just guess…

Well, most people go out of their way to avoid pain. They do everything they can to avoid anything that causes suffering—unless it has a payoff. Kind of like when you keep attracting the same kinds of guys even though they’re not good for you. If there weren’t a payoff, you’d get pissed off and the next time a loser came along you’d kick him to the curb.

So what are you going to do? Are you going after what you want this year?

Remind yourself of how good it’ll feel when you have it and stop wasting energy on moving away from what you don’t want. Learn to tip the scales in the favor of moving toward pleasure, and you’ll find yourself living your dream.

Oh, and be sure to catch my webinar on making a personal investment in your future. It’ll give you a head start.

XO,

Hayley
