The Power of Your Inner Knowing: Trust Your Intuition + Create Your Dream Life

Hey, my friends! I’m Hayley Hobson and I’m so glad you’re here! Welcome to the 10/10 Podcast where I'm paving the way in the holistic wellness space for ambitious women, like you, to look + feel younger, so you can achieve a 10/10 lifestyle (and unlock financial freedom).

I was thinking about you guys this week because I was coaching a client who’s struggling with her career right now.

She was asking me what she should REALLY be doing. ‘Cause she feels a bit lost.

So I asked her what her intuition was telling her.

And she said she didn’t know.

To be honest with ya, she actually kinda got a little triggered!

She expected me to literally tell her what to do—to have a logical, tactical answer.

Practical ideas on exactly what to do.

Or a process to follow.

AKA: solutions from the brain—instead of from the heart.

But the truth is—all really big decisions come from your heart and from your body.

Not your brain.

You see, your body holds your truth…

And tapping into your inner knowing—or your INTUITION—is how you begin to know the answer.

The reason this made me think of you is because I get asked these kinds of questions all the time.

Questions that are heart-based… but people THINK they’re tactical, logical ones.

And it’s why so many of us are stuck or dissatisfied or living in fear.

Instead of stepping into your power and creating a life you’re obsessed with.

So today I thought we’d blend the two… an explanation of why your intuition is so critical for your life’s journey…

And then some practical tips to hone your intuition.

Sound good?

Before doing this kind of work, I highly recommend setting yourself and your environment up for optimal success.

That means getting into a calm, quiet place… reducing the noise within AND without…

And the way I do that is by using some aromatherapy to relax both my body AND mind.

I mean, intuition is subtle energy… so removing the noise and clutter is clutch.

So I reach for my go-to intuition blend — which is Lavender, Wild Orange, and Frankincense.

Add those oils to your diffuser, settle in, and just breathe.

Quiet your mind and tune your focus inward.

I’ll explain more about this ritual here in a sec…

But before I forget, if you wanna grab these oils for yourself, I’m passing along my wholesale rate to you when you go over to www.hayleyhobson.com/intuitionblend.

I’ll throw the link in the show notes so you can stay present in this convo, ok?

So first of all, what IS intuition?

Well, intuition is usually described as a feeling, a gut instinct, or a sixth sense. You just KNOW something as truth.

We ALL have this—yes, even men. LOL

I like to think of intuition as the inner voice that guides us toward what feels right, even when logic and reason might suggest otherwise.

This is a huge thing, so lemme say it again… intuition is NOT based on logical reasoning or evidence.

It’s a direct knowing that comes from within, often manifesting as a feeling in your body.

The truth is, so many of us are disconnected from our bodies.

We let our thoughts run the show—or we see our bodies just as the vehicle we inhabit to get through life.

But your body is more like an instrument.

It’s sensitive—it’s creative—it’s evolving.

But many of us have forgotten this fact.

You may be sitting there wondering, how does intuition play into the concept of living a 10 out of 10 life?

Well, it’s because intuition is intimately connected to your authentic self.

It’s the real YOU.

Without the chatter of your mind or ego chiming in 24/7.

Your intuition is your inner voice which knows what you truly desire, what you’re capable of, and what’ll bring you true happiness and fulfillment.

See why I coached my client to tap into her intuition instead of her brain?

The thing is… when we ignore our intuition (or, like I said, lose that connection so we don’t even feel it), we’re essentially ignoring a key part of ourselves.

And this can lead to feelings of dissatisfaction, unhappiness, and even depression.

Not to mention frustration.

But when we learn to tap into our intuition and trust it, we experience a greater sense of purpose and meaning in our lives.

Plus, we get to make decisions that align with our true values and passions.

Now, I get that this concept is a little woo-woo.

But big decisions can’t be made 100% with your brain.

Your heart gets to be involved.

And listening to your heart, letting it guide you… that’s the role of intuition.

So, let’s get into the tactical side.

Of HOW you flex your intuition muscles—and use them to craft your own 10/10 life.

The first step is to become more aware of your body and notice the signals it sends you.

And I’m not talking about the super loud, overt signals, like pain. Or hunger.

These days, soooooo many of us live in our heads, disconnected from our physical selves.

We push through discomfort and ignore signs of stress and anxiety, thinking we just can power through anything with sheer force of will.

I mean, I’ve done that for MANY many years… and it only got me so far.

Note where stuffing your emotions has gotten you so far in your life.

Intuitive energy is subtle.

Here’s an example…

Have you ever gotten a knot in your stomach when you think about a particular decision? Or conversation. Or even person.

Have you ever experienced a feeling of lightness and excitement when you consider a certain path or opportunity?

These are intuitive cues coming from your body.

Not all cues are this overt, though.

It takes practice to notice the gentle energy of your intuition.

One hack to help you calm your body and your mind naturally…  to create the right space for these messages to come through… is through supplementation.

Did I just throw ya for a loop there? LOL

Take, for instance, reishi mushrooms.

They're adaptogenic stress-soothers and high in antioxidants that help reduce feelings of irritability.

Plus, they’re really great if you're feeling physical discomfort and want to improve your cognitive ability. #winwin

Lions Mane mushrooms are another great supplement.

They help relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression, so you can clear your mind and connect within better.

You can get these supplements at literally any health food store.

Next, let’s talk about techniques to quiet your mind and tune into your body.

Which can be as simple as taking a few minutes each day to sit quietly and focus on your breath.

It could be journaling—lots of people find the act of writing to be grounding. Maybe you’re one of them.

Maybe you prefer a more traditional form of meditation.

Or a structured practice like yoga.

Try out different options until you lock into what you like best.

So let’s say you pick your practice.

You get quiet… get your diffuser going… get your body calm and grounded…

And you’re ready to connect.

Start by bringing your awareness down into your body.

To your heart center. Or your gut.

Basically, get OUT of your head.

With your eyes closed, move your awareness down to the area of your choice—just breathing there.

Then, ask yourself: What am I feeling? What is coming up?

Notice the sensations in your body—don’t try to interpret them.

Simply tune in and FEEL your body.

What does that FEEL like inside you?

What sensations do you notice?

Is your breathing slow and deep? Or shallow and fast?

Just notice.

You can do this for 3-5 minutes, 10 minutes, or as long as you like.

As you practice this, you’ll begin to notice what it feels like inside YOUR body.

When you first start, you may want to do this “tuning in” practice several times a day.

And once you feel connected, you can expand to practicing even when you’re not in a quiet place—to strengthen your awareness of the sensations and feelings in your body.

So when those messages DO come up for you, you’ll know what they feel like—and be able to notice them in the moment.

That’s really why I love using aromatherapy as a tool for this practice.

It opens up the channels for you to notice the subtle messages of your body really well.

I love to include Lavender essential oil in my Intuition Blend because it has calming, soothing qualities.

It helps promote feelings of relaxation.

Lavender is known for its ability to calm your nervous system, lift your mood, and even lower blood pressure.

Wild Orange is also part of my Intuition Blend because it has this incredible uplifting, energizing aroma. Not to mention, it’s effective for reducing levels of stress and anxiety.

Critical for tuning inward, right?

Frankincense has similar properties, acting as both a mood enhancer by reducing feelings of stress and anxiety while also improving concentration and memory.

So the combo of those three oils is really powerful to practice tapping into your intuition.

When we learn to recognize the energy… get curious… and stop being so disconnected and robotic…

We have the ability to learn from this intuition and turn it into action that actually benefits our lives…

And take us where we want to go.

When you notice the subtle energy cues in your body, it’s often a direct ask from your inner knowing to shift something.

But soooo often we’ll push or fight against it because we’re not used to the feeling.

We’re uncomfortable with the energy.

We don’t wanna make the change. Or it feels scary. Or too much.

Or it’s our ego is chiming in… wanting to default back into thinking logically vs. intuitively.

But remember, our bodies are guides. They’re working in our favor.

I think it’s also pretty important to mention one more thing here—intuition is NOT a magical solution to all of life's problems.

It's definitely not a substitute for hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

Instead, it’s a TOOL that can help us navigate our lives with greater ease and authenticity.

It's up to us—you and me—to put in the effort to develop our intuition and use it wisely.

And while taking these steps can be scary… following your intuition (and backing it up with committed action) will also lead to greater fulfillment, creativity, and success in every area of your life.

AKA: the 10 out of 10 life I talk about on the daily. The life I know we all want and deserve.

So if you're ready to start living a 10 out of 10 life, start by paying attention to your intuition.

Hone the skill… and then listen to the signals your body is sending you.

And trust that your inner voice knows what's truly best for you.

Because it IS you.
