Personal Branding 101: How to Build a Brand that Attracts All the Right Clients and Customers

We all dress to impress...whether we’re going on a date, heading out to a client meeting or going for an Americano with our bestie.

Each of us rocks our own unique style, and it goes deeper than the clothes we wear or what color we dye our hair.

We all have our own visual identity. And our inner beliefs and ideals influence how we portray ourselves to the world on the exterior.

Guess what….the same goes for your biz.

Having a visual identity is extremely important.

Not only does it tell the world you’re a total pro (because yah girl, you totally are!)...

It sets you apart from the rest of the flock.

YOU are your brand, even when you’re selling a product or service.

And when your branding is on point, you will attract your ideal client.

Sounds pretty sweet, hey?...Yah?.... OK, let’s dive right in….

How to create badass branding for your biz…

To get your own personal branding show on the road, start by simply having a conversation or an interview with yourself...

Ask yourself:

If your brand was a person, what would she look like?
What are your values?
What is your personality?
What are your beliefs?
What are your passions?
What sets you apart from the competition?
If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

The answers to questions like this will help you find your brand voice and after you get that down...you can go a little deeper.

Like your logo, font colors, imagery and so much more. But don’t get too caught up...if you can hire someone to make you a logo, that’s great.  If not, there are super inexpensive apps and services out there.

If you’re on a budget….focus more on having a consistent voice across all your channels aka website, social media, etc. and let the real you shine through.

Belt out that inner voice! Let the world hear it!

A lot of people think that their personal brand is their product. It’s not.

Look in the mirror. Your personal brand is YOU...a reflection of yourself as an individual.

Think about it — we buy something because we have an emotional connection to it.

It’s more than just having a fancy business card or logo, as a business owner — as the representation of your business — people connect to YOU.

And give yourself room to grow…

When I first started out as a yoga and Pilates teacher, my brand looked a lot different. It was simply me relating to my clients.

But when I brought essential oils into my business, I changed my brand a little more to reflect the wellness/health coach side of my business...then I changed it even more when I entered the network marketing world and became a trainer and influencer…

My personal brand is now all about me being an educator/speaker and now...an author and helping women, just like you consciously create the business of their dreams.!

Brands evolve and grow but your voice should remain consistent...that voice is yours, it doesn’t change.

Even with your photos, try to have a consistent look to your images — simply use the same filter on all those Instagram posts. Trust me, it makes a difference.

Whether you’re sending out an email or posting on Facebook — it should all directly reflect your brand and reach your narrow audience so you make REAL connections.

Narrowing your audience and your brand is hella critical.

Believe it or not, the more narrow your brand is, the more people you will attract!

If you’re brand is wide open...no one will identify with you. It’s like attracting all the fish in the sea...when what you really want is to see a dolphin!

And all those fish will just ignore you because you’re not flashy enough. Your brand is too generic.

So keep your shiz tight and you’re going to have an actual direct impact on your ideal client or customer.

And you’ll see the sales start rolling, your followers increasing, and your business taking off.

So go out there and show the world the real you…
Cuz you really are a total pro.

XO,
Hayley
