Money.
It’s not always the easiest thing to talk about….but what if it was?!
What if we talked about money the same way we do the latest detox trend or our fave Instant Pot recipe?
I want to talk about it. Because I want to help you realize it’s possible to go from broke to (NO JOKE), making the money you’ve always wanted to make!
I want to talk about the moment I got my biggest paycheck ever.
But let’s do the moonwalk for a moment and take a step back.
Before this life-changing moment happened, I was working as a lawyer earning about $100,000 a year and getting a paycheck every two weeks. #notbad
I definitely wasn’t stoked about my job, left the field of law and became a yoga and Pilates teacher and all of a sudden, I felt like the money I was making wasn’t fully in my control. No clients, no money. I had to hustle to make that 6 figure income again.
---
Side note...
MOST people don’t think they can make six figures. That person may be you, and you’re sitting there thinking….
There’s no way I could ever make that much money.
Earning a lot of money is not meant for me.
If that sounds like you….keep reading...because I’m here to tell you, YOU CAN!

So I decided to make some changes in my life and it was only when I got my first paycheck from doTERRA...seeing ALL that money come in at ONE TIME….that I started to... BELIEVE.
It was March of 2012. I was running around like a crazy person in Chicago, doing a million things at once, juggling teaching and workshops and essential oils when I logged into my back office from my phone and…
I lost my breath.
$15,000 had been auto-deposited into my bank account.
Woah.
I started my business with doTERRA in November 2011. My business (and rank) expanded quickly ... Consultant to Diamond in the first six months.
I was working my butt off. Checks had been coming in week to week and month to month but it for sure had finally paid off when I got THAT check.
But more importantly, the belief in myself had paid off.
I had decided to buy into a belief system to propel myself into nearly doubling my earnings.
$15,000 -- are you kidding me?? That works out to about $180,000 a year! I couldn’t believe it.
But I must’ve believed it, because it happened.
My mind was saying it was possible.
Eight months later, I advanced to Blue Diamond.
I was at a leadership conference for doTERRA, working out at the fitness center at our hotel with my husband.
Word of advice: Never check your bank account balance while running on a treadmill.
I NEARLY FELL OFF.
My first check at Blue Diamond -- $45,000 -- had been auto-deposited into my account.
$45,000 for one month of work!
I was speechless. My husband’s jaw was on the floor. It was madness.
From the moment I got that first big payout, I started thinking about how I got there so I could figure out how to stay there….and keep going from there.
Was it a belief in myself?
Was it ingrained in me as a child?
Did it come from my (ultra-supportive, “you can do anything you set your mind to!”) parents?
Maybe it was a bit of all three...but I can say, without a doubt, it wouldn’t have been possible if I didn’t believe it was possible.
It’s the subconscious thoughts in our brains that allow us to either move forward, freeze in place, or spiral downward.
I bought into a belief system that led me to believe I CAN make money. I deserve to make money.
But I needed to play detective and unravel my layers of UNconsciousness.
How did I turn this into a reality? Who was I listening to at the time? What were my mentors telling me?
Take Tony Robbins for example. If you decide you truly believe in what he’s saying, you start taking what he’s saying and adapting it to your own life.
You start manifesting. You start DOING.
All of the sudden, you’re watching your paycheck go from $1,500 a month to $2,000 to $4,000 to $8,000….
All of the sudden, you’re achieving what you’re believing.
What thoughts do you need to choose to believe it’s possible?
What is living in the layers of your subconscious?
Who do you listen to? Who are YOUR mentors?
What thoughts have become poisonous? (Let ‘em go, girl)
When are you going to decide to believe in yourself?
I get to choose the beliefs I want to buy into. I get to design how my life will play out.
And so can you.
When’s the last time you pleasantly surprised yourself? Let me know in the comments!
