Why Your Metabolic Health is Important & How to Fix It Yourself


Do you know what “metabolic health” is?

It refers to falling within “healthy” thresholds of five key areas:

  1. Blood sugar (fasting glucose under 100 mg/dL).
  2. Blood pressure (130/85 or under).
  3. “Good” cholesterol (HDL cholesterol higher than 40 mg/dL).
  4. Waist circumference (35 inches or smaller for women and 40 inches or smaller for men).
  5. Triglycerides (fat in your blood, under 150 mg/dL).
Basically, if you don’t fall within the “healthy” range in three out of the five markers, you’re metabolically unhealthy…
 
Which means you skyrocket your chance of developing “silent killer” disorders like heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, and liver disease. AKA: the top causes of death in the US.

But before you even get to that point, your metabolic health impacts how you look, feel, and show up each and every day.

3 Ways to Beat the Metabolic Health Crisis 

1. Boost your NAD production. 


NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is an important chemical compound that naturally takes place in our bodies.

When we’re young, we have crazy amounts of NAD in our cells.
